Amphawa is a district in samut songkhram, one of the smallest provinces in Thailand’s central region. though modest in size, the area is rich in natural resources. Its low-lying plains, nourished by the mae klong river and a network of small canals flowing toward the gulf of thailand, create fertile soil rich in minerals, formed by both river and sea.
These natural conditions make amphawa one of the best lands for coconut cultivation. For generations, its coconuts have been prized for their aromatic fragrance, gentle sweetness, and tender flesh, giving rise to its name as the “Land of Coconuts.”

Thanks to this remarkable versatility, the coconut is widely known as the “Tree of Life,” symbolizing nourishment, sustainability, and a way of living rooted in nature. For generations, coconut trees have supported both the livelihoods and daily wisdom of the amphawa community.
